Roasting the perfect turkey

Ingredients

  • Turkey
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Thyme (fresh or dried)
  • Sage (fresh or dried)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Directions

Wash the turkey with cold running water.
Pat dry inside and out with paper towels .
Place turkey in a deep roasting pan.
Season with salt, pepper, thyme and sage.
Brush with ½ cup melted butter.
Add 1cup of cold water to the roasting pan.
Pre heat oven to 350°F.
Bake turkey at 350°F (see cooking chart below).
Baste every hour and remove excess fat.
Cover loosely with tin foil after 2 hours.
Remove from oven and let rest for 30 minutes before carving.
